Long before the Internet began to dominate everyday life, I
was a professional software engineer. If your business needs extend beyond the
Web, I can create desktop applications for your PC. From simple databases to
sophisticated network applications, I have the experience to create custom
solutions for your unique problems.
By far the most common need for software development is in the
area of Data Processing, including general Database applications. This involves taking
your business data (such as a customer list or your budget information) and manipulating
it in such a way that it becomes useful INFORMATION. For example, you might
need a program to print mailing labels for your customers, or to compare budgeted
sales with actual sales.
I can help you with your data processing needs, from creating
simple database forms and reports using MS Access, to full blown custom software
applications built with powerful languages such as Delphi.
Perhaps you need a program to automatically generate or
manipulate graphics files in formats such as BMP, GIF, JPEG, or PCX? There are
many excellent graphics programs already available, but sometimes your needs aren't
quite covered by an existing product. I can help you create a custom solution that
meets your exact requirements.
Not quite as extensive as a Data Processing or Graphics application,
a Utility is a small program that performs some useful task, often with little or no
user interaction. For example, perhaps you need some way to cause a program to run
at the same time every day while you're out of the office? A Utility could
be written that would watch the clock for you, then automatically launch the program
at the right time. (In fact, Windows has exactly such a Utility program built-in!)
The great thing about computers is that they can do almost anything
you can imagine -- so if you can dream it, I can build it for you!

I have found that most clients prefer to receive bids on a
per-project rather than per-hour basis, and just as each project is unique to
that client's situation, so too are the costs involved. However, one of my
personal pet peeves is when a web site doesn't provide any pricing
information, so you can review a listing of my standard rates
if you'd like.
